Project Overview
Axis was appointed to deliver the façade package for Meadowbank School, providing a high-quality external envelope that complemented the project’s modern educational design. The scheme combined the durability of a brick slip system at lower levels with the sleek appearance of the Axiom IP interlocking plank rainscreen system on the upper elevations.
In addition to the façade package, Axis also delivered the structural steel support structure for the first-floor sports hall. This steelwork had to be carefully designed and coordinated to integrate with the ground-floor modular units, creating a cohesive structural solution across the different construction systems.

The Solution
Axis manufactured and installed its Axiom IP aluminium rainscreen system, utilising the system’s secret-fix interlocking plank design to provide a crisp, modern aesthetic. Available in both vertical and horizontal orientations, Axiom IP offers design flexibility alongside robust performance and weather resistance.
To complement the metal façade, a brick slip system was installed at lower level, creating visual contrast and helping to ground the building within its surroundings.
The Outcome
The completed project delivers a striking balance between contemporary design, traditional materials and integrated structural engineering. By combining Axiom IP rainscreen cladding with brick slip finishes, alongside a carefully coordinated structural steel support solution for the first-floor sports hall, Axis helped deliver a durable, low-maintenance and high-performance building.
